Japanese Plum Yew – ‘Duke Gardens’
The Japanese Plum Yew, Cephalotaxus ‘Duke Gardens’ variety originated as a branch sport in the Sarah P. Duke Botanical Gardens in Durham, NC in the mid 1950’s. It is an elegant, compact form, and has all the attributes of a true aristocrat of plants.
‘Duke Gardens’ features softly textured dark green foliage and grows slightly wider than tall over time. Because it is of slow to moderate growth rate, it can be maintained in its existing site long term.
